Immediate closure of the ski area!

Mountain Vision AG
[Translate to englisch:]

In its decree of Friday afternoon, the cantonal government had allowed operation up to and including Sunday. At the same time, the federal government for its part decreed that ski resorts, as organizers, could only allow 100 persons, which is practically equivalent to the closure of the ski resorts and mountain railways.

The federal regulation takes precedence over the cantonal regulation - for this reason, the cantonal authorities have decided that the ski resorts and mountain railways must cease operations with immediate effect.

We too had been looking forward to two last days in the snow, were completely taken by surprise by the news and regret the abrupt end of the season. We regret even more the circumstances that have occurred to you.

On www.laax.com/alternativen you will find suggestions for off-piste activities.

Stay safe and happy!

Important Message

Mountain Vision AG

Due to the current situation regarding the new coronavirus, the cantonal authorities have decided to suspend lift operations as of next Monday, 16 March 2020. We are also inconsolable about the early end of the season in the LAAX ski resort. However, the safety of our guests, employees and the locals is of the utmost importance.

To ensure that you can still enjoy your time in the snow this Saturday and Sunday, we are taking additional measures and making suggestions on how to avoid large crowds.

  • Extended Offer: Next weekend we will again begin lift operations at 8:00 a.m. from the valley stations Flims, Laax and Falera. This way we will optimise the spread of guests. In addition, we will run the gondolas more frequently, which will reduce the formation of queues.
  • Buy your Lift Ticket at Home: and get direct access to the slopes.
  • Premium for Everyone: With the Premium function, you can always see how many people are queuing at any given lift. Connect your keycard to the app and redeem your token to activate the premium function.
  • Mobile Ordering: In selected restaurants on the mountain and in the valley you can order your food and drinks directly via the app.
  • Brunch Instead of Lunch: Start your skiing day with an extensive breakfast. Not only will you stay on the slopes longer, but you'll also avoid your stomach pushing you to the restaurant at noon during rush hour.

LAAX expands its offer

Mountain Vision AG

Next Sunday, March 8, 2020, our valley lifts will open half an hour earlier, from Nagens and Crap Sogn Gion they will also run half an hour longer in the evening.

In view of the coronavirus, we are taking the following measures:

  • Early Bird and extended operating hours in the afternoon in Nagens and on the Crap Sogn Gion.
  • By extending the lift operating hours on busy days, such as the upcoming Sunday, the distribution of guests will be optimised.
  • In addition, the increase in the frequency of the lifts allows guests to reach the slopes more quickly and at the same time reduces the formation of queues.

Martin Hug, head of the mountain lifts, says: "We do not see limiting the number of passengers in gondolas as a goal-oriented measure, because it increases waiting times and increases the accumulation of guests in the stations. Similar experiences have already been made with competitors in Italy and the restrictions imposed by the authorities had to be reversed within a day.

Premium function for all INSIDE LAAX App users

App users, who are in possession of a valid lift ticket and have connected their Keycard in the app, will receive a token code with which they can access premium functions in the INSIDE LAAX app free of charge. This allows them to view the number of guests at the lifts via the webcams and therefore, to go to the lift with the fewest guests.

Expansion of Mobile Ordering via the INSIDE LAAX App

Even at lunchtime, the highest priority is given to the safety of our guests: "Disinfectants are available at all publicly accessible places. In addition, mobile ordering has been expanded and food in various self-service restaurants can be ordered from the tabel instead of at the counter," says Christoph Schmid, responsible for the restaurant and hotel sector at the Weisse Arena Gruppe.

We will inform you about the offer in the ski area LAAX until the end of the season and further measures in view of the Coronavirus on www.laax.com.
